The best work starts before the answers are obvious.
I help teams and organizations make the technical calls that are easy to postpone and expensive to get wrong. Strategy when you need direction. Hands-on execution when you need things done.
Four problems I get called about.
Start with whichever one is hurting most. Most engagements begin as one of these and grow into something else.
This isn't my first startup.
I started at twelve, helping run Minecraft servers and writing the plugins behind them. Since then, I've built systems, led growing teams, worked as a fractional VP of R&D, and built two companies of my own.
Founding engineer
I joined as the third developer and helped grow Tonkean from 0 ARR to several million. The work crossed backend, infrastructure, hiring, customer workshops, sales, and the systems that let the company grow.

Building the team and the system
I led integrations and Zero Trust from design-partner work with Okta and Azure through architecture, delivery, and observability. I also helped form new squads, improve hiring and ownership, and scale detection to tens of millions of events a second.

Butler AI & Lumos AI
Built Butler AI with a co-founder, then Lumos AI alone. More than 1,000 customer conversations, real users, and two hard decisions to stop.
Fractional VP of R&D
Now I bring those lessons to early-stage teams that need senior engineering leadership before a full-time VP makes sense.
Six engagements. Three I can talk about.
Each one is tagged with the kind of work it was, in case you want to read more about that one.
Built the clustering engine that segments prospects for personalized marketing data, wired up integrations across the customer's systems, and ran the GCP infrastructure underneath it. Sat in on customer calls and helped get the product listed in marketplaces.
Architected and built a faster, more secure, stealth browser platform. Led authenticated session handling and deterministic, self-healing automated actions on top of it. Helped define company values and shape the R&D org from early on.
Refactored a vibe-coded system from scratch, architected and built it all by hand, then put processes and harness tests in place to keep it that way. Hired the engineering team. Trained the SLMs behind real-time remediation of agent failures, from classic errors like 429s to hallucination, drift, and wrong tool calls, resolved in under 80ms.
+ 3 more, under NDA.
I care about the work and the people doing it.
I've been the engineer asked to make a system hold together, the lead asked to make a team work, and the founder deciding whether the thing is worth another month of my life. Those are different jobs, but they teach the same thing: the technical decision is rarely only technical.
I work closely with whoever is making the call, because the hard ones need context. What customers are saying, what the team can actually carry, what is reversible, and what becomes expensive if you wait too long. I try to make those calls clearer, then help the people around them follow through.

I write about all of it.
Tell me what's breaking.
A short note is enough: team size, what shipped last quarter, and the thing you'd fix first if you had the time.
